Alcohol & Drug Dependency Services of Southeast Iowa (ADDS) is a licensed provider offering prevention, substance use disorder, and problem gambling treatment services in the Keokuk area. As part of the HSS integrated provider network, ADDS receives funding from the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration. With locations in Burlington, Mount Pleasant, Keokuk, and Wapello, ADDS provides outpatient counseling, peer recovery coaching, and medication-assisted treatment to support individuals on their recovery journey. I have always been drawn to the medical field and being able to care for others. When I was younger I remember how my provider knew everything about me and my family. I want to provide that same feeling for patients and their family. It is important to me to take time with patients to listen and gather their whole story. I want to know what makes that patient who they are, build a trusting relationship and be able to individualize the care provided. I feel that my nine years of experience as both a preoperative and postoperative registered nurse have given me the opportunity to see first-hand what patients and their family go through during the surgical process. I understand that patients can be anxious before procedures. I want to take my experience and use that to educate and help comfort patients and their family during their surgical journey.
