South Chicago Arts Center

The South Chicago Art Center, established in 2001, has evolved from serving just 18 students two days a week to a vibrant community hub reaching over 3,500 young people and their families, now open five days a week. With a dedicated team of 24 teaching artists and 12 interns, the center provides a supportive environment where youth can explore their creativity and form meaningful relationships.

More than just a creative space, the South Chicago Art Center is a sanctuary for children facing the challenges of poverty, crime, and social tension. As former student Alanna Garth expressed, the center fosters an atmosphere filled with dreams, love, and inspiration, making it a vital resource for the community.
