Founded in 1979, The Popcorn Factory specializes in popcorn packaged in decorative tins, baskets and boxes. Its products are holiday and gift-themed. The company uses pure corn oil, high-quality butter and genuine cheese in its products. In May 2002, The Popcorn Factory was acquired by 1-800-Flowers.com, a retailer of flowers and plants, gift baskets, gourmet foods and confections and plush stuffed animals. The parent company, which is headquartered in Carle Place, N.Y., also owns the brands Plow & Hearth, GreatFood.com, HearthSong, Magic Cabin and Winetasting Network. It maintains service centers and local fulfillment facilities in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida, Arizona and New York, as well as a chain of retail stores located in major markets throughout the United States. The Popcorn Factory is located in Lake Forest, Ill.
