Mamma Onesta’s Italian Restaurant opened in Lockport, Illinois on March 19, 2008. The restaurant is owned and run by Frank and Mary DeGrassi and family. Mamma Onesta’s translates to “Honest Mother” in Italian. The restaurant was named after Frank’s mother, a hard working and honest woman, Erminia DeGrassi. A second Mamma Onesta’s location was established in Canton, Georgia on July 10, 2017. The Georgia location is owned by the Degrassi and Buonauro family and operated by the Buonauro family, Mario & Melanie Buonauro.
