History
The School was founded by Jill Glaser, a Chicago freelance media makeup artist, to address the area's need for a quality art program for makeup artists. Make Up First offers both beauty/fashion and theatrical/fx courses, as well as classes on wigmaking and hairstyling for makeup artists. The School has attracted students from all over the country, as well as Taiwan, Mexico, Sweden, Poland, Russia and other countries too numerous to mention. The teachers all currently work in their area of expertise. A board-certified dermatologist is also on staff to teach the science of the skin. Students work with professional photographers to build their portfolios as early as the third week into the program. The student kits include the finest makeup artist products: Makeup Forever, Kett, Cinema Secrets, Eve Pearl, Kryolan and many more.
