HistoryMetro Achievement Center for girls has spent more than 30 years helping young girls become successful women by teaching them how to be good students, daughters, sisters and friends. Its carefully designed programs for grades 4-12 provide a combination of academic support, character development, and fun! 92% of Midtown and Metro students get accepted to college prep high schools.SpecialtiesMetro Achievement Center offers supplementary summer and after-school programs for 4th-12th grade girls from low-income families in the city of Chicago. It provides academic enrichment, character education, individual attention, and extra-curricular activities for students, as well as parenting skills classes, discussions and conferences for parents. For 17 years, 100% of our students have achieved high school graduation and college enrollment.

The Girl Scouts of Trailways Council is a nonprofit organization that serves girls between the ages of 5 and 17. It offers various programs that promote girls personal growth and leadership skills development. The organization also operates shops that provide uniforms, handbooks, songbooks, gifts, recognition items and accessories. It also conducts training sessions on self-evaluation and the development and practice of teaching skills. The Girl Scouts of Trailways Council organizes workshops on a variety of topics, such as science, environmental education, and health and fitness. Its resource center provides books, videos and cassettes tapes that contain materials on science, leadership development, international understanding, outdoor survival and cooking topics. The organization also conducts group events that provide information on diverse cultures, sports, careers and outdoors education. It maintains a presence in Joliet, Ill.
