The Handicapped Development Center, also known as HDC, is a nonprofit organization that serves individuals with disabilities. Incorporated in 1969, it provides employment service, personal independence and community residential programs. The center also offers employee development and planning services. The Handicapped Development Center conducts a variety of classes that includes instructions in the areas of communication, grooming and personal hygiene. In addition, it provides physical therapy solutions, as well as operates a residential center that offers intensive care services. The center serves individuals in Scott County in Iowa. The Handicapped Development Center features 24,000 square feet of production area. It also maintains a fleet of more than 20 trucks. The center has a staff of over 350 employees.

Located in Lanark, Ill., Rolling Hills Progress Center is a private, nonprofit agency that serves adults with disabilities who are of 16 years of age and above. Founded in 1975, it owns and operates various small businesses, including retail, dining and orchard operations, and imprinted novelty items, golf tees and accessory sales. The center offers various programs, such as developmental training, remunerative employment, education, counseling and skills development. It operates a food pantry and provides a variety of facilities and services, including transportation, a lunch program, financial assistance, participation in the Special Olympics, and planning and coordinating various field trips. The center also provides various golf products, educational puzzles, pencils, magic slates and novelty items.
