Crete-Monee Middle School

Opened in 1961, Central Elementary School serves more than 600 students in kindergarten through grade five. The school s facilities include a fully staffed kitchen, cafeteria, gymnasium, media center, art and music rooms and computer lab. It promotes various athletic programs, such as basketball, soccer, football, and track and field. The school also supports art, music and counseling programs. In addition, Central Elementary School s library has a collection of books and periodicals that complement the academic curriculum. The elementary school teacher various subjects, including math, science, social studies, art, and physical and health education. Central Elementary School is based in Portage, Ind.

O'Neill Middle School serves more than 530 students in grades seven and eight. The school s academic curriculum includes several subjects, such as language arts, social studies, science and math. It provides a selection of programs in art, foreign language and physical education, as well as options to participate in several athletic activities, such as cross-country, basketball, volleyball, and track and field. O'Neill Middle School also manages garden, spirit and recycling clubs. The school provides the English as a Second Language program and operates a parent-teacher association that works for student welfare. In addition, it offers guidance counseling and special education services. O'Neill Middle School operates a library and is managed by Downers Grove Grade School District 58.
