The city of Evanston's Department of Parks, Forestry and Recreation provides a wide range of services to improve the quality of life of the residents of Evanston, Ill. The department preserves and maintains a forest, provides safe and attractive parks, beaches and open spaces, and fosters appreciation of its natural resources and conservation through education. It also offers quality recreation and sports programs and services for people of all ages and abilities. Department of Parks, Forestry and Recreation also assists local artists and arts organizations to foster arts education in the city. The city offers various recreation centers, including Chandler-Newberger Center, Evanston Ecology Center, Fleetwood-Jourdain Center & Theatre, Levy Senior Center & Children's Theatre, Noyes Cultural Center, and Robert Crown Center & Ice Complex.
