Woodward Academy was founded in 1900 as Georgia Military Academy, a military boarding school for boys. In 1964, the school became coeducational, and it currently serves more than 2,800 students. Its main campus consists of primary, lower, middle and upper schools. The curriculum of the high school includes advanced placement, honors, college preparation, and academic and transition courses. Its academic curriculum includes various subjects, such as computer studies, English, foreign languages, math, science, social studies, and visual and performing arts. Its athletic programs include baseball, basketball, cheerleading, cross country, football, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, swimming and diving, tennis, track and field, Frisbee, volleyball, weightlifting and wrestling. Woodward Academy is located in College Park, Ga.
