301 Auburn Ave NE
Atlanta, GA 30303

Sweet Auburn Festival is an annual event held in the historic Sweet Auburn District of Atlanta, Georgia, aimed at bringing awareness to the rich history, heritage, and achievements of Atlanta's African Americans. Concentrated along a mile and a half of Auburn Avenue, this district was once known as the "richest Negro street in the world," where African Americans established businesses, congregations, and social organizations amidst the challenges of segregation laws.

The vision of the festival is to restore Auburn Ave to its former glory as the "greatest street on the planet" and transform the Sweet Auburn viaduct into a world-class destination, connecting the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site to the center for civil and human rights. With a focus on community strength and mental health awareness, the Sweet Auburn Festival aims to create a family-friendly event that celebrates the cultural significance of this historic district.
