Dr. Athavale's interests include all aspects of adult and pediatric otolaryngology-head and neck surgery. His main focuses include General Ear, Nose & Throat, sinus surgery, nasal surgery, thyroid surgery, sleep surgery, ear surgery, neck mass surgery, and head and neck cancer surgery. Serving the Dawsonville community 5 days per week.

John Hwang, MD is a board-certified general surgeon with the American Board of Surgery. He has been in practice since 2017 performing minimally invasive/robotic general and weight loss surgery. He treats all types of abdominal wall hernias, gastrointestinal tract disorders, and gallbladder diseases. His practice philosophy emphasizes focusing on the entire patient, addressing their overall health rather than solely concentrating on the surgical problem. For his weight loss patients, he employs a multi-disciplinary approach which includes working with dieticians, psychologists, and exercise physiologists. In his spare time, Dr. Hwang is an avid runner having completed three marathons and looking to run his next. He enjoys traveling and spending time with his wife and his son.
