Established in 1970, The Newton County Water & Sewerage Authority is a part of the state legislature. Based in Covington, Ga., the authority functions under a number of departments, including Water Reclamation, Engineering and Water/Sewer Maintenance. The Water Reclamation division performs sewer effluent pretreatment services. The Water Maintenance division is responsible for the installation/repair of water and sewer utilities inside the authority's service area.
