About Daniel R. Meachum Atlanta-based Attorney Daniel R. Meachum is touted as one of the country's premiere litigators, corporate and entertainment attorneys. Born in the Piedmont area of North Carolina, in a small unincorporated town known as Badin, Meachum graduated from North Stanly High School in New London, North Carolina. While attending North Stanley, Meachum became the first Black vice-president of the student body and received the National Citizenship Award from then President Gerald Ford. He continued his education at North Carolina Central University, graduating with a BA in Political Science in May 1977. While at North Carolina Central University in Durham, Meachum was named vice-president of the student government and was widely known as an accomplished singer. Meachum later graduated with a Juris Doctrine from Howard University School of Law in Washington, DC in 1981. As a third year law student at Howard, Meachum was selected as one of fifty nominated law students, out of 2, 000 applicants, from one of the nation's top accredited law schools as a member of the U.S. Department of Justice Honors program to work in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York, under then Assistant United States Attorney Dwight Greene. After graduating from Howard, he culminated his extensive educational background by studying in Brussels, Belgium at the prestigious University of Brussels VUB. Meachum earned an LLM (Master of Law ) in International Comparative Law in 1985. Currently, Meachum is the Founder and Chairman of Daniel R. Meachum & Associates, LLC, based in Atlanta, GA.
