Deep Springs has a long and proud heritage. The church was founded in 1852 and for over a century and a half the church has been faithfully proclaiming the gospel of Christ and winning souls. From the early days when it was used as a hospital for wounded Civil War soldiers to the present the mission has not changed. There are more than 15, 000 independent Baptist churches in America and every one is an autonomous congregation. We are self-governing and self-supporting. The head of the church is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Bible is our sole authority for faith and practice. It is our desire to be a truly New Testament church.
