Walton County Tax Collector

Established in the 1885, Walton County Tax Collector's Office is an independent government entity responsible for collecting taxes, licenses and fees. Based in DeFuniak Springs, Fla., the office is responsible for collecting taxes for local government agencies and taxing authorities. Additionally, it acts as Walton County's agent for the issuance of dog on the beach and beach driving permits. The Tax Collector's Office also participates in the management of the executive branches of the state government of Florida. It works with the Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Department of Environmental Protection, Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles and Department of Revenue.
