Stephanie Marie Llop Quintana, MD

Eduardo C Alfonso, MD, is director of the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology, and holder of the Kathleen and Stanley J Glaser Chair at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. Physician, surgeon, professor, researcher, and administrator, he is known for his clinical and research expertise in eye diseases, corneal surgery, ocular microbiology, and administrative skills in healthcare. Born in Cuba, Dr Alfonso grew up in Puerto Rico. He received a bachelor degree (Summa Cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa) and medical degree from Yale University. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.

Dr Nicolas A Yannuzzi is vitreoretinal surgeon at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute where he completed his residency in ophthalmology and fellowship in vitreoretinal surgery and served as a chief resident and the co-director of ocular trauma. Dr Yannuzzi received his B.A. from Harvard College where he graduated cum laude with high honors in biochemical sciences. Subsequently, he spent a dedicated research year at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center examining novel treatments for glioblastoma, the most fatal form of brain cancer. Dr Yannuzzi received his medical degree at Weill Cornell Medical College where he won the Edward Norton prize in ophthalmology and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honors society.
