Dr Amundson received her dental degree at University of Illinois. She completed her residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Miami.

Erik Scott, MD, brings exceptional training and a personal connection to the Big Bend, joining TMH Physician Partners - Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2025 as a Cardiothoracic Surgeon. He earned both his undergraduate and master's degrees at the University of South Florida then completed medical school at Howard University in Washington, D.C. where he was awarded the American Association of Thoracic Surgeons Summer Internship and completed a congenital heart surgery internship at Johns Hopkins All Children's Hospital. Dr. Scott went on to complete his residency in Cardiothoracic Surgery at the University of Virginia. Dr. Scott specializes in coronary artery revascularization, aortic and mitral valve surgery, atrial fibrillation ablation, aortic surgery and thoracic surgery, caring for patients with complex cardiac and thoracic conditions. TMH Physician Partners - Cardiothoracic Surgery sees patients at the Archbold Specialty Clinic in Thomasville twice a month.

Cemil Purut, MD, joined TMH Physician Partners - Cardiothoracic Surgery in 2025 with advanced training and extensive experience in complex heart and lung procedures. He earned his medical degree from Duke University in Durham, North Carolina where he also completed his residency and fellowship in cardiothoracic surgery. Dr. Purut specializes in minimally invasive and open-heart procedures including coronary artery bypass surgery, heart valve repair and replacement and surgery for thoracic conditions.
