Maria Kyriacou, M.D., is a primary care sports medicine physician at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. Dr. Kyriacou specializes in non-surgical treatments for acute, overuse and chronic orthopedic problems. She has a special interest in sports-related injuries, joint arthritis, musculoskeletal ultrasound, and ultrasound-guided procedures. During her fellowship training, Dr. Kyriacou was involved in stem cell, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and amniotic regenerative orthobiologic therapy. She is fluent in English, Spanish and Greek. During her fellowship, Dr. Kyriacou was part of the medical team for the Miami Dolphins, Florida International University, St. Thomas University and Barry University. She currently serves as a team physician for Florida International University. In 2019, Dr. Kyriacou was named Resident Teacher of the Year at Phoebe Health. She has also presented at a number of sports medicine conferences and meetings. Dr. Kyriacou served as the medical director for the Sneakers Marathon in Albany, Georgia in 2018 and as the event physician for Escape to Miami and Lifetime Miami Marathon in 2019. Dr. Kyriacou provides exceptional patient care by treating her patients as if they were family. She strives to listen to each patient to determine the best approach to treatment. When she is not treating patients, Dr. Kyriacou enjoys traveling, playing soccer, kayaking, running and spending time with her family.

Cary B. Chapman, M.D., is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon at Baptist Health Orthopedic Care. Dr. Chapman specializes in minimally invasive surgical treatments for chronic and acute foot and ankle injuries, ankle arthritis, ankle replacements, bunions, and hammer toe deformities. Dr. Chapman’s extensive experience includes more than a decade of private and academic medicine in New York City. While on faculty at NYU Langone Orthopedic Hospital, he was the first surgeon in New York State to successfully perform a custom total ankle replacement using innovative 3D printing technology. He also previously served as the chief of foot and ankle surgery at the University of Miami. As he returns to South Florida, Dr. Chapman brings his passion for training the next generation of orthopedic surgeons. His experience as a clinical assistant professor at the New York University School of Medicine and the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine, as well as his involvement in developing questions for orthopedic surgery board examinations, will be beneficial to expanding the educational division of the orthopedic department.Aside from clinical and direct academic experience, Dr. Chapman continues to do research that has been published in numerous peer-reviewed publications, including The Journal of Foot & Ankle Surgery, Cartilage, Orthopedics, Foot & Ankle International, The American Journal of Orthopedics and Journal of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
