Lake County Corrections

Corrections is a division of the Lake County Sheriff's Office, which provides a range of public support services. It offers crime prevention, law enforcement and judicial support services. The office supports The AMBER Plan, which is a voluntary partnership between law enforcement agencies and broadcasters to activate an urgent bulletin in serious child abduction cases. The Lake County Sheriff's Office provides information about wanted and missing people. It operates agriculture, central records, civil, investigation, crime scene, finance, honor guard, mounted patrol and property departments. The office supports the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) program and maintains a K-9 patrol unit. The Lake County Sheriff's Office s Special Weapons And Tactics (S.W.A.T.) team handles situations related to confrontation with armed individuals, barricaded suspects, snipers, riots, crowd control, and the rescue of hostages and injured people.
