Hearing Services Audiometric Testing JHBI offers routine hearing tests for both adults and children with hearing problems. Special equipment is available to test the electrical function of the ear ( electrocochleography ) as well as the function of the hearing nerve and brain ( auditory brainstem response testing ). JHBI is pleased to offer a wide selection of styles and types of hearing aids from different manufacturers to help individuals with hearing loss. The different manufacturers include Siemens, Resound, Unitron, Phonak, Sonic Inovations ( Natura ) and Widex. We dispense varied digitally programmable and 100% digital hearing aids whose controls allow the aids to be set more precisely for the individual's specific hearing loss. Cosmetically appealing hearing aids, such as the completely in-the-canal type are also available. In addition, we offer a wide range of assistive listening devices for the telephone, television and other listening situations.
