J. Alexander's is a casual dining restaurant chain that is headquartered in Nashville, Tenn. It is a publicly owned corporation that was formed in 1971 as Volunteer Capital Corporation. Its founders were three local Nashville businessmen, Jack C. Massey, Earl Beasley and John Neff. The company uses a variety of architectural designs and building finishes to provide its guests one of the most attractive environments in the restaurant industry. It serves American-style food, including starters, salads, burgers, sandwiches, steaks and seafood. J. Alexander's starters include Pico de Gallo salsa and chips, Mexico City spinach con queso, Mr. Jack s chicken fingers and calamari. It maintains locations in various cities throughout the United States, including Plantation, Fla.
