Hospice of Health First, founded in 1978 and located in Melbourne, Fla., is part of the Health First group. Headquartered in Rockledge, Fla., and founded in 1995, Health First is a nonprofit health care delivery system. Health First offers three hospitals, including Cape Canaveral Hospital in Cocoa Beach, Holmes Regional Medical Center in Melbourne, and Palm Bay Community Hospital in Palm Bay, Fla., serving Brevard County, Fla., communities. Its also offers services, including several outpatient centers, a trauma center, home care and specialized programs for cancer, diabetes, heart and stroke. Health First provides fitness centers and rehabilitation and Health Maintenance Organization plans. The organization provides health care and support to patients suffering from terminal illnesses and support services to their families. It also offers bereavement services, and Bright Star that is a specialized children s program for grief and loss.
