John Woltz, D.O., is a primary care physician with Baptist Health Medical Group. He specializes in general practice, preventive and occupational medicine. Dr. Woltz has treated patients in a diverse range of settings, including rural clinics, hospitals and major urban healthcare facilities. He has extensive experience working with military and civilian populations. He retired from the United States Air Force as a lieutenant colonel after a 28-year career. Dr. Woltz joined Baptist Health from Hocking Valley Medical Group in Ohio, where he served as medical director of a 13-provider, 36-person staff in rural Appalachia. He was also the chief of aerospace medicine and the public health emergency officer at Wright-Patterson Medical Center on the Wright-Patterson Air Force Base. He is passionate about partnering with his patients to help them reclaim and maintain their health through regular physical activity and healthy lifestyle choices. In addition to his medical degree, Dr. Woltz holds a Master of Science in public health from the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Woltz has been honored with numerous military awards and decorations, including the Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. He also served as a physician member of the Hocking County Board of Health and a member of the Logan-Hocking School District School Board. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Woltz enjoys exercising, boating and spending time with his wife and dogs.
