Successories began with a compilation of quotes, creeds and motivational writings of the world's most influential thinkers. The company believed that these writings, once gathered together, would be of tremendous help to motivate and inspire others. The company had the conviction that the right quotation, at the right moment, could help bring one's goals into perspective. With this in mind, the company created and produced quote books, award plaques and customized gifts. Building on the success of these original insights, photographic imagery was integrated to create framed motivational artwork. In 1988, the very first catalog was developed and mailed under the 'Celebrating Excellence' masthead. The company went public in 1990 and the first Successories retail store opened in 1991.
