Dayuri Gallardo, APRN

Juan Pretell, M.D., is a musculoskeletal oncology surgeon and the chief of musculoskeletal oncology surgery at Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Pretell specializes in benign and malignant musculoskeletal tumors and skin cancers affecting the musculoskeletal system. He is fluent in English and Spanish.Prior to joining Miami Cancer Institute in 2022, Dr. Pretell worked at University of Miami where he was an Associate Professor of Orthopedic and Faculty of the Orthopedic Surgery residency program and Musculoskeletal Oncology Fellowship. He also was the director of clinical research in the Division of Musculoskeletal Oncology Surgery.Dr. Pretell’s research has been published in high-impact national and international orthopedic and oncology journals. He has been a speaker in national and international meetings, and faculty for international Musculoskeletal Oncology courses. He is an active member of the Musculoskeletal Tumor Society and fellow of the AAOS. He is also a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons.Dr. Pretell’s approach to patient care is to view patients and their families as his own family members. He is honest and open about the diagnosis and the treatment options available with the most current, evidence-based medicine. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Pretell enjoys going to arcades, cooking classes and entertainment activities with his oldest stepson and his triplets, watching movies with his oldest daughter, traveling and taking beach walks with his wife. He is also an avid World Cup soccer fan.

Rohan Garje, M.D., is a nationally renowned medical oncologist and the chief of genitourinary medical oncology at Miami Cancer Institute. Dr. Garje specializes in the treatment of prostate, kidney, bladder, testicular and penile cancer. Dr Garje has significant expertise in the design of novel investigator-initiated clinical trials and has served as the principal investigator for numerous phase I, II and III clinical trials. He focuses on providing precision oncology care utilizing targeted therapy, hormonal therapy, immunotherapy, radioligand therapy and chemotherapy. Dr. Garje is an internationally published leader in cancer research. He has amassed over 30 publications in prestigious journals, such as Journal of Clinical Oncology and the Journal of Immunotherapy for Cancer. At the Institute, he leads a team of medical oncologists actively involved in clinical research bringing industry-leading treatments to patients with genitourinary cancers. Before joining Miami Cancer Institute in 2022, Dr. Garje served as an associate professor of medicine in hematology and oncology at the University of Iowa/Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center.Dr. Garje is also the chair for the castration-resistant prostate cancer guidelines committee for the American Society of Clinical Oncology. He leads the committee's work in reviewing research and writing guidelines for prostate cancer treatment. Dr. Garje serves on the editorial board for Current Problems in Cancer and is a reviewer for multiple journals including Journal of Clinical Oncology and Journal of Oncology Practice. Dr. Garje is passionate about providing individual care to each patient because each has a unique journey. He takes time to listen to patients and walks with them throughout their treatment. When he is not treating patients, Dr. Garje enjoys spending time with his family and traveling, always with a camera in hand. He is fluent in English, Hindi, Telugu and Marathi.

Manuel Ozambela, Jr., M.D., is a urologic surgical oncologist at Baptist Health Miami Cancer Institute. He specializes in the treatment of cancers that arise from the genitourinary system (urinary and reproductive systems), including kidney, bladder, prostate, testicular and penile cancers. He is fluent in English and Spanish. After earning his medical degree from Harvard Medical School, Dr. Ozambela completed his urologic surgery training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in the Harvard Program in Urology. He received both the Exceptional Resident Award and the Award in Academic Excellence for his outstanding clinical performance and academic achievements. Prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Ozambela completed his fellowship in urologic oncology at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. During the fellowship, he worked with a multidisciplinary group of investigators to study rare and aggressive kidney tumors with the goal of identifying novel treatment options. He has authored multiple scientific abstracts, manuscripts and book chapters on various topics in urologic oncology. Through his research, he strives to identify new diagnostic and treatment options for genitourinary cancers, improve patient recovery after surgery and enhance his patients’ quality of life.Understanding that he often meets patients during significantly stressful moments, Dr. Ozambela takes time to talk through diagnoses and treatment options. Through excellent communication and shared decision-making, he works with his patients to create treatment plans that reflect their individual goals. Dr. Ozambela is a South Florida native and enjoys spending time with his growing family when not taking care of patients.
