Center Academy began in 1968 with the vision of its founder, Dr. Mack Hicks. Seeing the need for a specialized, full-day school for students who were falling through the cracks in traditional schools, Dr. Hicks established one of the first schools in the US to focus on the needs of students with Attention Deficit Disorder and other neuropsychological processing difficulties. With a team of professionals in the fields of neuropsychology, education, and individualized remediation, CA opened its first classrooms in the Science Center in St. Petersburg, FL. As Center Academy has expanded to locations around FL, and into Smyrna, GA , it has stayed true to its mission and kept its focus on addressing the unique needs of each student.

Celandine Life-Prep Academy, located in Maitland, FL, is dedicated to providing a Christian-based, individualized academic and therapeutic support program for students from grades K through age 22 who face unique challenges. The academy focuses on enhancing independence, coping skills, communication, socialization, and home management through a blend of core academics, sensory integration, life skills, and the arts.
