Ariel B. Vazquez, M.D., is a family medicine physician at Baptist Health Primary Care. He provides comprehensive healthcare, such as preventive medicine, acute care and chronic disease management for people of all ages. In addition to practicing in family medicine and geriatrics prior to joining Baptist Health, Dr. Vazquez served as an assistant professor of clinical science at Florida International University Herbert Wertheim College of Medicine. Dr. Vazquez earned his medical degree at the American University of Antigua College of Medicine. He completed a general medicine internship at Hospital Pavia in Yauco, Puerto Rico and a family medicine residency at Houston Healthcare in Warner Robins, Ga. To provide personalized care, Dr. Vazquez strives to build trusting, long-term relationships with his patients by creating a supportive environment where they feel valued, understood and confident in their care. He believes in treating the whole person, not just symptoms, considering a patient’s physical, emotional and social well-being. His patient-centered approach incorporates active listening, shared decision-making as well as education to empower patients to take charge of their health. Dr. Vazquez in fluent in English and Spanish. Outside of his medical practice, he cherishes quality time with his family and especially enjoys playing with his son. He is passionate about cycling, flying remote-control airplanes, barbecuing, relaxing at the beach and astronomy.
