Incorporated in the State of Florida, with offices located in Tampa, Orlando, Sarasota, and Gainesville, Florida, HSW was founded in 1988 by three professionals with experience in earth science, environmental, and engineering disciplines. Staff members have backgrounds in engineering (chemical, civil, environmental, electrical, and mechanical), geology, hydrogeology, soil physics, hydrology, hydrologic (groundwater and surface water) and solute transport modeling, chemistry, ecology, toxicology, GIS and mapping. All professional and technical staff members, including the principals, maintain focus on their areas of practice and client relationships.

Kimmins provides specialty-contracting services including underground utilities and site work, demolition, earth moving, aggregate recycling and mine services. Kimmins provides services primarily to central Florida and has provided transportation related projects for the DOT, Aviation and Port Authority; civic buildings for the City of St. Petersburg, Clearwater and Tampa. Kimmins has a large fleet of expertly maintained equipment, along with employee field training and certification requirements. Safety is the determining factor in every facet of Kimmins work. In every area of operation Kimmins works to adhere to strict industry guidelines and rules to ensure that its employees are a part of a secure workplace. The company was founded in 1923.
