The Avenue

The Avenue & Capital Crab is a family-friendly neighborhood noshery serving fresh seafood and contemporary American cuisine by Chef Paul Madrid in an exposed brick casual setting. We offer elevated American fare, fresh local seafood, and the biggest & best crabs the Chesapeake Bay has to offer; a full service bar; a beer list featuring local, American, and Belgian craft beers; and most important - a comfortable, fun atmosphere. Come early with the little ones or later for date-night buffoonery, dine al fresco with your pooch on the front patio, or crack some crabs on the newly tented crab deck out back. The Avenue & Capital Crab was honored by EaterDC with the #1 Burger in DC 2022. True to a neighborhood joint, the goal is to get to know each guest, treat them how we'd like to be treated, and have them back time and time again.
