SOME

Founded by Horace McKenna, SOME is one of the leading providers of human services in the United States. A community-based, nonprofit organization, it has been operational for more than 40 years. Based in Washington, D.C., the organization serves the daily needs of more than 10,000 people with food, clothing and health care facilities. It provides more than 1,000 meals daily through a network of community volunteers, local churches, synagogues and civic organizations. SOME s social services division provides educational programs, life skills, job and vocational training, individual, group and family counseling, case and medication management, outpatient rehabilitation and community development services. Additionally, the organization also offers transitional services, temporary housing, addiction treatments and treatments for individuals with mental illnesses and developmental disabilities.
