Associated Black Charities is one of the premier African American philanthropic organizations in Maryland. The organization conducts its business through grant-making, investments, donor-advised funds and fundraising events. It raises and distributes funds to address critical issues and support area service providers with expertise through training and technical assistance. Associated Black Charities coordinates the community response to critical health issues, including HIV, AIDS and the impact of tobacco usage. Its African American Philanthropy Initiative program promotes, encourages and expands organized philanthropy in the African American community. Associated Black Charities has its headquarters in Baltimore and has branches in Cambridge and Landover, Md.

The American Red Cross in Hagerstown, MD is a historic organization that works every day to prevent and alleviate human suffering. American Red Cross helps people prevent, prepare for, and respond to emergencies. We provide domestic disaster relief, blood collection and distribution services, preparedness information, health and safety training, service to the armed forces, and international services.
