WRI is an independent, nonprofit organization with a staff of more than 100 scientists, economists, policy experts, business analysts, statistical analysts, mapmakers and communicators that conducts environmental research and drafts policies to protect the Earth. WRI is a non-partisan organization that works closely with governments, civil society groups and the private sector. The organization is based in Washington, D.C.
