Allegory (50 Best Bars in North America and James Beard Semi-Finalists) is the first bar to blend art, advocacy, and forward-thinking cocktails. Allegory is nestled behind the Progress Library inside the new Eaton Hotel. Allegory was inspired by and named after the stunning, one-of-a-kind painting that spans the bar. Local DC artist Eric Thor Samberg tells the moving tale of a young Ruby Bridges, a legendary civil rights leader, but through the eyes of Alice in Wonderland, Through the Looking Glass. Recent, Allegory was bestowed the 50 Best Bars in North America Best Cocktail Menu Award for their cocktail menu “Down the Rabbit Hole,” a menu that was designed by the bar team that dives deep into the story of Alice in Wonderland told through the eyes of civil rights pioneer Ruby Bridges.

Amazing drinks!!! Absolutely loved the Mardi Gras, especially as someone with a sweet tooth. Would recommend going early to get seated quickly (we arrived at 7:45 and left close to 11:30PM)....
