Avon High School is a four-year school that offers curricular and extracurricular programs to over 900 students of grades nine through 12. It offers classes in English, mathematics, science, social studies, arts and physical education. The school s foreign language department provides education in various languages, such as French, Spanish and Latin. Its library has a wide collection of fiction and nonfiction books, subject books, magazines, and reference material for teachers. Avon High School provides various sports programs, including cheerleading, cross county, field hockey, football, soccer, volleyball, basketball, ice hockey, swimming, wrestling, golf and lacrosse. Avon Middle School involves parents and communities in supporting student learning and healthy development. Students attending Avon Middle School take two-class periods of unified arts. These classes include art, music, drama, academic enrichment, band, choir, strings, physical education, health, family and consumer science and technology education.
