Wheat Ridge Parks & Recreation Department

The Wheat Ridge Parks, Forestry, and Open Space Division is dedicated to maintaining 21 city parks that span over 170 acres, along with seven miles of trails and 300 acres of open space. Their mission is to ensure that these recreational areas remain attractive, inviting, and safe for the community to enjoy.

Recognizing the importance of parks for the physical, social, environmental, and economic health of the community, the division also oversees urban forestry, community gardens, and nature programs. In alignment with local regulations, smoking and vaping are prohibited in all public parks, trails, and recreation areas to promote a healthy environment for all visitors.
