History
Steel City Self Defense began in the early 70's in Pueblo as a branch of the Japan American Butokukan Karate Association. (J.A.B.K.A.) In 2010 the J.A.B.K.A. and Bukyoshin ryu instructors formed Steel City Self Defense as a stand alone program focusing on civilian self-defense seminars. SCSD has always been an applied combatives school where consistent training is developed for real-world applications.
