Dr. Mears attended medical school at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Osteopathic Medicine of the Pacific in Pomona, California. She completed her Internal Medicine residency at Michigan State University/Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and then her Rheumatology fellowship at Michigan State University/McLaren - Greater Lansing Hospital, in Lansing, Michigan. She is board-certified in Internal Medicine and Rheumatology. She has particular interests in ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, and rheumatoid arthritis. She was named one of Whos Who Top Doctors in 2015.

Dr. Cappiello, originally from Pennsylvania, began his undergraduate studies at the University of Miami. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Delaware and attended medical school at St. George's University School of Medicine. He then completed his Rheumatology fellowship at the University of South Florida. His unique achievements include receiving Florida's Super-Doc/Top Doctor designation several times since 2008. Prior to moving to the Grand Valley, Dr. Cappiello was in private practice in South Florida. He has particular interests in osteoporosis and inflammatory illnesses.

The rheumatology team at our Arthritis Center of Western Colorado evaluates and treats an entire spectrum of more than 100 types of arthritis and related illnesses.
