The company was founded by Curt Mangan who has a 46-year history with the guitar. He played and recorded professionally for many years, worked at and owned music stores, built and repaired guitars, taught lessons, wrote music and was Director of Sales and Marketing for one of the world's largest string companies for seventeen years. In addition to device-testing all strings, several first articles from every batch of Curt Mangan strings are also installed on instruments and then played by either Curt or the production manager to make sure they feel and sound perfect.
