Cottage School

Established in 1963, Bal Swan Children's Center is a preschool with a 40 percent population of disabled children. The center provides early intervention therapies and education services for children with disabilities from infancy to five-years of age, that include occupational, physical and speech therapies, parenting skills and counseling support. The school s curriculum stresses pre-academic basics and incorporates arts and crafts, music, field trips and swimming in its warm-water therapy pool. The school s classroom has an equal mix of challenged toddlers with typical toddlers. Its class size is of six to seven students and focuses on facilitating overall developmental skills through routine play and interaction with peers. The Robert E. Loup Jewish Community Center offers a myriad of diverse programs and services to more than 5,000 member households and the public at large. The JCC s campus includes a state-of-the-art fitness center, a tennis center, classrooms, meeting rooms, a social hall, a commercial kosher kitchen, a nationally accredited preschool and a childcare center. The Mizel Center for Arts and Culture, situated on the JCC campus, has the 300-seat Shwayder Theatre with commercial film capabilities, an exhibitions gallery, art and pottery studios and additional theatre and dance spaces. Membership is open to the general public, including all races, colors and religions. In addition, the organization offers classes ranging from early childhood to seniors.
