Arapahoe County Residential Center

The Denver Housing Authority, also known as DHA, serves more than 23,000 residents. It provides a range of housing options and economic opportunities in Denver. The organization owns and operates over 3,000 public housing and multifamily units that are subsidized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. The Denver Housing Authority also offers the Housing Choice Voucher program. Established in 1938, it serves individuals and families and operates a real estate development department. The organization employs a staff of nearly 200 individuals. The Denver Housing Authority provides contract administration services and a homeownership program. It maintains apartment homes in Thomas Bean Towers building.

Denver Regional Council of Governments provides regional cooperation between more than 50 county and municipal governments in the Denver metropolitan area. It serves as the region's Area Agency on Aging, and plans and coordinates services to older adults. It prepares and adopts a regional plan that provides policies to guide where, how much and when growth and development occur in the region. It also serves as the transportation planning region in developing plans for the mountains and plains areas. It provides services, such as traffic signal coordination, travel forecasting, carpool and vanpool matching, teleworking assistance, and alternative transportation promotion. It oversees all regional water quality issues, including watershed quality trends, standards and classifications, wastewater treatment and disposal practices, groundwater quality, recharge zones and land use patterns.
