Tuolumne River

Considered to be some of best “All Around” whitewater in the nation, the Main Tuolumne offers 16-18 miles of Class 4-5 whitewater rapids. Side streams such as the Clavey River, Big Creek & North Fork Tuolumne offer side hikes, fishing holes and warm swimming pools during the summer months.

This 5-mile stretch (Class IV) is for experienced whitewater enthusiasts. Take a rafting trip with 1 of 3 commercial outfitters currently licensed to run this river or organize a private one. Please contact the Ranger District for guidelines for put-in, take-out & parking.
