I have started on the road to becoming a birth doula in 1999 and was first certified in 2000.

Sabine Omvik, certified doula and owner of TLC Doulas, has been offering birth doula services since 2000. As labor progresses, the calming presence of another woman experienced in normal childbirth is extraordinarily reassuring to both mother and partner. In addition to greatly enhancing the mother's comfort, a doula also assists both mother and partner to understand birthing options and to make informed decisions. Doulas offer birth mothers, babies and partners a unique level of skill, commitment and support. TLC Doulas offers placenta encapsulation, postpartum doula services, whole birth prenatal yoga in your home as well as maternity, labor & birth and baby photography. Sabine is also a Nursing Mother Counselor and a mother of two teenagers.
