The Ontario Police Department provides police services and solves neighborhood problems. It has a Special Weapons and Tactics team that includes a predetermined number of specially selected sworn personnel who receive continuous specialized training. The department s traffic division is responsible for traffic enforcement and injury collision investigations. Its services bureau includes communications, records, personnel, training and crime prevention divisions. The Ontario Police Department s records division is responsible for transcribing reports, filing citations and reports and providing information to the public. It conducts several crime prevention programs, such as workplace violence, conflict management, shoplifting prevention, citizen's academy, personal safety and telemarketing fraud. The police department is located in Ontario, Calif.
