We serve children, families, dance artists, educators, schools and organizations through a variety of programs aimed at increasing access to dance for all. Our rigorous approach emphasizes creativity, collaboration, and composition. LDI's programs include Professional Learning, providing education and support to all who teach dance; Studio Laboratory, the Bay Area's only choreography-based program for children and teens; School and Community Alliances (SCA), supporting schools in our home community to build standards-based dance programs; Moving Parents and Children Together (MPACT), providing parent-child dance classes to families in Alameda County and the child welfare system, and Building Cultures of Dance, offering consulting to districts, organizations, schools and teachers throughout the country. Based out of Berkeley's Aquatic Park, we strive to bring ALL children to dance.

The Capoeira Arts Foundation, based in Berkeley, CA, serves as a cultural hub for Capoeira enthusiasts and practitioners, celebrating Afro-Brazilian history and artistry for over 40 years. As a project of the United Capoeira Association, it offers a diverse range of classes and programming led by renowned mestre teachers, fostering a vibrant community dedicated to the martial art's unique blend of dance, music, and combat. This 501(c)(3) organization not only promotes the physical discipline of Capoeira but also emphasizes its cultural significance as a way of life, encouraging participants to connect with its rich heritage. UCA Berkeley is an integral part of a broader network of Capoeira schools throughout the United States, Mexico, and Brazil, solidifying its status as an epicenter for this dynamic art form.
