Established in 1973 by James Bement, John Dainwood and Kent Sturgeon, BDS Engineering is a full-service civil engineering consultant. The company provides a wide range of services, such as assessment districts, pavement maintenance and repair programs, contract administration, plan and map checking, construction documents, sewer systems and construction inspection. Other services include street improvements, construction surveying, water systems, drainage improvements and computer aided design and drafting. The firm serves as the city engineer and engineering staff for the city of Imperial Beach, Calif. Headquartered in Lemon Grove, Calif., BDS Engineering has a branch office in Temecula, Calif.

Kappa Surveying Inc was established in 1979 in La Mesa, California and provides a variety of surveying and mapping services throughout all of San Diego County in Southern California. Our line of work includes lot surveys, major subdivisions, minor subdivisions, A.L.T.A. surveys, condominium plans, condominium conversions, fence line surveys, lot line adjustments, topographic surveys and feasibility studies. Services are provided for private and government sectors. We also are able to provide all aspects of field surveying including topography mapping and construction staking. All work is performed in-house . We are a certified Small Business ( SB ), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise ( DBE ) and Small Local Business Enterprise ( SLBE ). Our office equipment includes the latest in computer operating speeds, latest release of AutoCAD with Land Development Desktop ( a Civil Engineering & Surveying software package ). Field equipment includes electronic total station transits ; hand held data collectors with CAD and GPS capabilities for fast, reliable and accurate field calculations and collections. We are members of the California Land Surveyors Association. The principals of Kappa Surveying are Rick Turner P.L.S., President, and Rob Russell P.L.S., Vice-President.
