Areg Grigorian, MD

Dr. Behram P. Mody is a board-certified UCI Health cardiologist who specializes in advanced heart failure and mechanical circulatory support. His clinical interests include cardiac critical care, arterial hypertension, cardiac amyloidosis and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy. He also performs right heart catheterizations, endomyocardial biopsies and pulmonary artery pressure monitor implants. Mody earned his medical degree at St. George's University School of Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He completed an internal medicine residency at State University of New York-Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., followed by a cardiovascular disease fellowship at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, N.Y. He completed an additional fellowship in advanced heart failure, mechanical circulatory support and heart transplant cardiology at the UC San Diego School of Medicine. He has presented his research findings at various national conferences, including the Heart Failure Society of America and the American College of Cardiology, and has published in peer-reviewed journals. Mody takes a comprehensive, personalized approach with each patient. His No. 1 focus is providing exceptional, evidence-based care and he strives to educate his patients on managing their heart health.

Dr. William H. Yong is a board-certified UCI Health pathologist who specializes in neuropathology. His clinical interests include brain and pituitary tumors as well as the pathology of neuromuscular disorders. Yong earned his medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He completed a residency in anatomic and clinical pathology at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston, receiving the American Association of Neuropathologists' Lucien J. Rubinstein Award in neuro-oncology for his work in the lab of Dr. David Louis, who pioneered the use of molecular diagnostics to classify malignant gliomas and predict their response to therapies. He then completed fellowship training in neuropathology at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. He also holds a master's degree in cell and molecular biology from San Francisco State University, where he studied reverse transcription of HIV-1 (AIDS). Prior to joining UCI Health and the UCI School of Medicine, Yong served as chief of neuropathology at UCLA Health, director of Brain Tumor Translation Resource at UCLA's Brain Research Institute and director of UCLA's neuropathology fellowship program. Before that, he was the director of pathology at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles. Yong's research interests include the neuropathology of brain tumors, Down syndrome and COVID-19, as well as biobanking and pathology informatics. He is the author or co-author of more than 275 peer-reviewed research publications.

Dr. Sindu Alexander is a board-certified UCI Health physician who specializes in nuclear medicine. She earned her medical degree from the University of West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago. She completed a residency in nuclear medicine at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center, followed by a fellowship in PET and CT imaging at Keck Hospital of USC in Los Angeles.
