Alison Roberts, CNM

Prior to becoming a midwife, Ms. Roberts had a successful career in environmental policy. Her interest in midwifery was ignited by the skilled and compassionate care she received by a midwife during her first pregnancy over three decades ago. Ms. Roberts was so inspired, she went on to study midwifery and graduated from UCSF in 1997. Ms. Roberts has had an extensive midwifery career working in academic and community health settings. Ms. Roberts has served as faculty at UCSF, lead midwife for a community health center, supervisor of ob/gyn residents at Kaiser, and CNM hospitalist for Sutter. She was instrumental in bring Centering Pregnancy and Parenting to Northern California. Ms. Roberts believes optimal well- being is self determined and best achieved when a trusting, respectful and compassionate partnership is created between the individual and their medical provider. She promises to actively seek and listen to your stated needs and desires and to take your lead in walking your path to health. She wants you to know and feel you are truly cared for.
