The Baxter Regional Medical Center Nephrology Clinic, operated by board certified physicians and their staff, works to identify, diagnose, and treat diseases and disorders affecting the kidneys in Baxter, Marion and surrounding counties. As a specialty clinic, the nephrology clinic treats patients for dialysis and kidney transplants, as well as for hypertension and renal osteodystrophy.

Dr. Mathews attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. He completed his fellowship in Nephrology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences in Little Rock, Arkansas. Dr. Mathews is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.
