HistorySparrow's Promise opened as Searcy Children's Homes in 1974. We opened as a residential home for children in foster care. Since that time, the focus has changed to placing children in foster homes. We have also added a number of support services to help their families as they seek to gain reunification.SpecialtiesSparrow's Promise is a non profit foster care agency providing hope for children and families. Since 1942, FSA has been a prominent provider of services such as stress, anxiety, and depression management, family counseling, and substance abuse recovery in Central Arkansas. Their mission is to enhance wellness by providing quality services, guided by values that include diversity and strengths in family structures, community partnerships, and a culture of respect and accountability at all levels. Established in 1967, Black Community Developers Inc. is a nonprofit community and faith-based organization. Based in Little Rock, Ark., the organization serves low-income, underserved, disadvantaged and at-risk youth, children and families. It carries out various BCD Homebuyer's, health and wellness as well as Supportive Housing programs. The community also operates The Nia Center, a project designed to train youth and adults in areas of professional writing, job skills, computer literacy and social activism.
